Plan storage and pressure around daily consumption and peak demand.
A practical approach
Estimate daily use and backup duration, then establish simultaneous flow, required pressure and pipe losses. Select a suitable pump arrangement and level protection.
What to confirm
Storage volume and peak pump duty answer different questions. Confirm usable storage, source yield and the pump curve at the required head.
Illustration: 4 people × an assumed 150 litres/person/day × 2 days = 1,200 litres of usable household storage. Add measured garden and pool use separately, and allow for unusable tank volume. Pump size depends on simultaneous flow and total head, not this daily volume alone.
Prepare these details
Occupants, daily consumption, backup duration, water source, available space, simultaneous outlets, required pressure and pipe route.
Will a bigger tank fix low pressure?
Storage provides a reserve. Pressure depends on the pump duty, elevation, pipe losses and controls. EAC can scope storage, pumping, level protection and installation together.
